Hatton (Warwick) Garden Village

It’s not often that you come across a single landholding of more than 600 acres, that already features a high street, railway station, nursery, leisure attraction, thriving village pub and technology park.

But that’s exactly what land owners Johnnie and Arabella Arkwright have managed to achieve on their Green Belt estate that’s been in the family for more than 150 years. Johnnie Arkwright, the descendent of 18th Century industrialist Sir Richard Arkwright has a background in property and has spent the last 30 years building up his land into the perfect environment for a new Garden Village.

Urban Place Lab has been supporting with at the shoulder advice on the vision prior to 2016, and continues to be engaged as the project moves forwards towards a joint venture and full Garden Village promotion. Not wishing to throw the baby out with the bath water, the absolute measure of success of the project, will be the maintenance and continuation of the countryside and village nature of the place.
