Hammonds Farm Design Advice
In our capacity as design mentors and design reviewers, we have been appointed by Grosvenor to act as design ‘shadow’ to an established team, as part of joint venture discussions on the promotion of Hammonds Farm, on land east of Chelmsford.
Our review afforded us the scope to challenge the vision set out by the incumbent team, investigate neighbourhood centres for content and distinctiveness, and suggest ways in which the project vision could more effectively permeate the design promotion.
Of particular interest, was the land owners interest in the science of epigenetics (the study of biological mechanisms that will switch genes on and off) and how environmental influences in settlement design, can have an impact on life-changes outside the womb!
