Foxenden Quarry

Following a shortfall of circa 200 homes as part of Guildford Borough’s Weyside Village site, UPL identified a possible brownfield site situated within the town centre and adjacent to Guildford London Road Railway Station.

We created a feasibility and concept study that repurposed the upper floors of one of the many multi-storey car parks in the town, supporting a move to improving air quality and increasing the density of housing provision in the town centre.

A below street level play park that occupies part of the site at present, was integrated into a new street level open space, with added surveillance and with the potential for enhancing green space.

Furthermore, the existing Catholic Church that currently sits on a traffic junction, was integrated into a new urban square as part of the proposals.
