Edge of Settlement Urban Extension

UPL was asked to consider this edge of settlement parcel as part of land promotion in North Yorkshire

We were asked to consider a more nuanced and sensitive approach than earlier promotions, investigating local distinctiveness, rural settlement interface and a blend of character and density to better achieve a genuine transition from town to country.

UPLs work in particular, advised on advance planting, providing a layered landscape, and suggested design details of enclosure and building orientation to obtain a sensitive and acceptable relationship with the countryside.
